Who we are

This website (the "Site") sells the digital book The Rockhound's Compass and the companion Field Card Deck, and gives away the free Land Check PDF. It is operated by Mysteries Group LLC ("we", "us"), which publishes The Rockhound's Compass.

What we collect

Purchase information. Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy, Stripe collects your payment details and shares with us your name, email address and order information. We never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Email address. If you ask for the free Land Check, or if you buy, we use your address to deliver the PDF, to send your receipt, and to send you a short series of follow-up emails about reading ground, land status and the book. Every one of those follow-up emails carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also stop them by replying to any of them with the word stop.
Email engagement. Brevo records whether our emails are opened and whether their links are clicked. We look at those numbers in aggregate, to know whether the series is worth sending at all. We do not use them to profile you and we do not use them to target advertising.
Basic technical data. Our hosting provider may log standard technical information (IP address, browser type) to serve and secure the Site.

We do not ask you for, and you should never send us, the location of a collecting site, a claim number, a coordinate or anything else about where you go. We do not want it and we do not keep it.

Who processes it for us

Payments are handled by Stripe. Email delivery, the follow-up series and the list segmentation behind it are handled by Brevo, which for that purpose holds your email address and the date, product and amount of your order. The Site is hosted by Netlify. Each of them processes your data only to provide that service to us.

What we do with it

Deliver your purchase or your free PDF, provide support, process refunds, and send you emails you can unsubscribe from at any time. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we run no advertising or analytics trackers on this Site.

Data retention & your rights

We keep order records as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to mysteriesmediallc@gmail.com. If you are a California resident, you may exercise your rights under the CCPA through the same address.

Cookies

The Site itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores up to three small values in your own browser: whether you have already given us your email, whether the exit offer has been shown this session, and whether you have already been offered the Field Card Deck — so that none of them is put in front of you twice. Those values never leave your device. Payment pages hosted by Stripe may use cookies necessary for fraud prevention and checkout.

Children

This Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version on this page.
